Gabe Salinas is President and Founder of the The Sports Lab. A highly sought-after coach for healthy and injured athletes alike, Gabe has helped athletes at all ages and levels-from youth sports to the professional and international ranks-achieve their highest level of performance in a variety of sports.
Behind Gabe’s Expertise, The Sports Lab has quickly established itself as the go-to performance facility for local athletes and club teams, as well as athletes that come from abroad to experience the cutting edge methods used at “The Lab”.
A former Hokie, Gabe started his Strength and Conditioning Career at Virginia Tech (Rated one of the top 10 Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Programs in the Country) under the tutelage of Master Strength and Conditioning Coach Mike Gentry. Salinas, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), graduated with his B.S. in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise.
An accomplished speaker, Salinas has been an invited guest to speak on various performance related topics. Gabe also serves as the performance director for the STX 68, the premiere youth hockey combine in the country and runs the popular website, StrongerWrestler.com helping to increase wrestling performance.
Also an accomplished athlete, Salinas comes from a diverse background including former national records in powerlifting, multiple world medals in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions as well as a top 40 world ranking in professional MMA. Gabe has used these experiences as an athlete himself to further relate to and help his athletes.
Zach Taylor is a Strength Coach at both The Sports Lab and Elmhurst College Track located in Addison and Elmhurst, IL respectively. An up-and-coming Performance Coach, Zach has helped athletes from all ages and abilities improve their performance on the field.
An athlete himself, Zach is a former collegiate Track and Field athlete as well as a national qualifying power lifter.
Taylor, despite his young age, has amassed a tremendous amount of experience spanning multiple sports and environments. In addition to his employment, he was sought out to be a performance coach for the prestigious STX 68 Hockey Combine, and has completed the internship program with UIC Sports as well.
